Registration
Run Around the Square is the largest neighborhood race in Pittsburgh. We have two events on Race Day, a 5K Race and a 1.5 Mile Run/Walk. Please see below for details and to register. All registrations must be completed in advance and online. There is NO walk-in or race day registration.
Run Around the Square is proud to be a USATF sanctioned race. In accordance with USATF rules, participants who receive assistance of any kind during the race are disqualified. Therefore, awards will be given only to participants who have completed the entire course on their own.
Please Note: USATF sanctioned event policy does not allow for animals to participate in competitions. The 5K is a USATF sanctioned event; therefore, dogs are PROHIBITED in the 5K.
5K Run
Most of the first mile of the 5K winds through Regent Square streets with plenty of warm, friendly cheers. The remainder of the race is through Frick Park’s cross-country trails, ending in Fern Hollow. Please follow course signage and STAY ON THE SIDEWALK when crossing the Fern Hollow Bridge because we will not be closing a traffic lane for the race. Race start time is 9:00 a.m. We will be returning to the route used before the bridge collapse. Please remember that registration closes at Midnight the Thursday before the race. No registrations are accepted after that time.

1.5 Mile Run/Walk
The 1.5 Mile Run/Walk takes place on the charming streets of Regent Square. The family dog can also join in on the fun. Dogs may be registered for ONLY the 1.5 Mile Run/Walk. The dog must be leashed and a dog owner/handler must be registered with every dog. NO EXCEPTIONS. The 1.5 Mile Run/Walk starts at 8:15 a.m. at the Environmental Charter School on the corner of Henrietta and Milton. Please see the map for an outlined route. Please note that awards will be given ONLY to participants who run the race under their own power.
